Liam Gallagher Unveils His Fashion Line 'Pretty Green'

Oasis' lead singer Liam Gallagher has just unveiled his new fashion line, Pretty Green.

Already the reviews have been iffy... Liam is quoted to have said "I'm not gonna be putting anything out, unless I wear it" which certainly does appear to be the case as it's basically a small collection of t shirts, cricket hats, tracksuit tops with a parka thrown in.

Judging by the reviews, what appears to be letting it down is the use of a 'lame logo' plastered on these generic colour blocked garments.

Both have their own fashion related lines to promote; Nicole recently collaborated with Mouawad jewellers to create her 1960 jewellery range - the House of Harlow, and Pete was plugging his fashion line, Clandestine Industries.

Following the succession of military and highly embellished jackets that marched down our spring / summer 09 catwalks, and the array of OTT evening wear style outerwear celebs have been rocking all season, it's no surprise that the highstreet have caught on and are now selling what is coined as Trophy Jackets.

From Chanel to Balmain to Luella it was all about high decoration and honour - the more ornate the better! I love these highstreet versions.. firstly we have one of Topshop's offerings (they have a whole collection of them here) which is 100% draped silk with neon coloured embellishments all over for £125. Secondly we have Urban Outfitter's cruise jacket which you can pick up at a snip for £65!

Fashion Knees-Up: Burberry Celebrates New Opening!

Burberry had another reason to celebrate with its opening of its new Madison Avenue American HQ.

The venue? The party was littered with celebrities atop the Palace Hotel, Burberry's choice of venue for the occasion.

The guests? Lily Donaldson, Claire Danes, Blake Lively, Orlando Bloom, and Helena Christensen were just some of the glitterati who joined Christopher Bailey in this celebration.

Random notes of interest? Three gleaming 50-foot-long Burberry logos lit up the midtown skyline and Burberry donated $500,000 to the Robin Hood Foundation, which benefits underprivileged New Yorkers.

With the economy in a spin, long gone are my afternoons frivolously spending up and down the highstreet… these days we are more likely to find ourselves umming and aahing over the components of our dream capsule wardrobe than hovering up the contents of Primark like flocks magpies, picking and swiping whatever happens to catch the eye.

I am now judging everything I wish purchase in terms of whether it falls into the ‘investment buy’ category or not, and I can’t think of a better way of building a new ‘forever wardrobe’ than starting with a classic pair of Louboutin heels... and with The Outnet having just taken stock of a number of Louboutins, some with up to 70% off the price, my head is spinning with excitement.
